Testimonials

  • "Jodie Murray is a dedicated and accomplished Yoga teacher. She has led a weekly, private evening session for a small group of mature aged women (60+) including me for the past 6+ years. Our group includes a cross-section of abilities. Some have many years of dedicated Yoga experience and others, like me, are relatively new to the delight of Yoga practice. Jodie has shared her deep knowledge of the spiritual and physical underpinning of her craft acquired from her experiences in Australia, India and Bali. She leads us through our sessions with calm and soothing dialogue. She has readily accommodated our varying needs and physical abilities and taught us to safely extend ourselves. Her skills and dedication have ensured that we leave our sessions relaxed and physically and psychologically refreshed. The pleasure we have each derived from these sessions has meant that we have prioritised our attendance despite many competing personal and professional commitments . For me personally and for others these sessions have provided a welcome opportunity for self-care in amongst a highly pressured professional working life. For some of our group they have also provided much needed opportunities for healing and recovery following significant periods of ill health. I highly recommend Jodie Murray as a Yoga teacher. She has a warm and engaging personality and is a gifted teacher."

  • “I had the pleasure of working one-on-one with Jodie for about a year while working in a fast-paced executive role. I never once regretted the early start, whatever state of body and mind I was in- fatigue, stress, urgency-mindset, the stiffness that comes with ‘desk life’ - because working deeply and personally with Jodie was often what brought me back to myself. Her care, skill, and faith in me was immensely empowering and that time on the mat with such a great teacher in a challenging period has stayed with me for years since. I’m grateful, and if you are considering one-on-one yoga, I highly recommend Jodie.”

  • “I would describe Jodie’s practice as “safe love”. In her classes she creates a safe loving environment which helps you find the personal safe space that’s needed for a deeper practice. I have often found Yoga studios to feel intimidating but Jodie’s warm welcoming energy and guidance during the classes has helped me to find my own inner yogi. I have suffered from stress and severe anxiety in the past and it is safe to say that her yin classes have helped me tremendously with my work towards inner peace, acceptance and balance. I highly recommend her workshop - Foundations of Yoga - not only is it a great introduction to beginners but interesting to anyone wanting a deeper understanding of yoga. I especially find the breath work exercises helpful in my meditation practice for also when tackling stressful situations in my everyday life.”

  • “When I first sat before Jodie as she delivered her introductory welcome to her Yoga class, I looked up and felt so welcomed, so held. The space that Jodie can hold is very special. It is whole. Her way of taking you on a new journey through asana and pranayama each time seems effortless; her descriptions are vivid and create a new way of seeing things. After many of Jodie's thoughtful phrases I have had an 'Aha!' moment. Jodie's meditations have always impacted me deeply. She has a gift of being able to describe and hold an image so that her students can see it clearly in their own minds. This has taken me to such depths within my meditation practices. Often, she would lead us out with a particular melodic mantra, a magical way to end the practice. I have such deep gratitude for Jodie as my teacher. Her care, wisdom, insight, and groundedness make her a unique teacher, whom I hope many others will have the opportunity to experience.”

  • “Practicing yoga with Jodie is a truly unique experience. I have had the opportunity to experience her teaching skills in both group and private lessons. Jodie’s teaching style exemplifies yoga’s true purpose: to unite ourselves with our highest nature. She effortlessly conveys that by integrating clear instructions for the body, spirit, mind and heart – delivered with her magical voice in a light, compelling, non-judgmental, sacred, and loving manner. Practicing yoga with Jodie is incredibly calming, centering and deeply mystical. Her level of knowledge of yoga postures is exceptional, only surpassed by her intuitive ability to convey their meanings and benefits to the context of our daily lives. I feel fortunate to have found such a gifted and generous teacher always keen to inspire us to be our best selves, on and off our mats.”
